Here is 20 minutes of Anthem gameplay, including a gross spider boss

Anthem boss

Anthem's executive producer, Mark Darrah, has posted 20 minutes of piping hot, alien-chopping gameplay. This is the full gameplay demo that was shown at EA Play this year, and which our own Matt Purslow saw on the show floor.

Matt tells me – a message which I, in turn, pass on to you – to look out for combos: how weapons, grenades, and certain effects mix together to inflict bonus damage. There's also a big boss fight at the end, which put him in mind of Destiny and Monster Hunter battles: it's full of adds, and clearly progresses through multiple stages as the boss takes damage.

I haven't seen the demo yet and I'm excited, for EA are releasing it in celebration of their success at this year's E3 Games Critics Awards. That's an annual show in which the games press recognise the best games of E3, and this year, Anthem took home awards for best action game and best PC game. The panel included 51 publications worldwide – including your friends here at PCGamesN. So the demo must be good, eh?
