Batman – The Telltale series gets August 2 release date alongside moody trailer

Batman

Episode one of Telltale’s take on the Dark Knight and his billionaire playboy alter-ego Bruce Wayne is coming out on August 2. Or is Batman the alter-ego? It’s certainly up for debate – and with Telltale’s signature narrative focus leading the experience, it’ll be down to you to decide who Bruce Wayne really is.

If you enjoy making impacful decisions, our list of the best RPGs will be right up your dark, criminal-filled alley.

Whereas other Batman games are more concerned with showcasing Batman’s strength, this will be just as much about the man behind the masks – the mask of both the public Bruce Wayne and the iconic cowl.

Hopefully this will give us a unique look behind the real Bruce Wayne and his thought processes, which is something we rarely see. If Telltale can pull it off, we could be in for a treat.

The trailer doesn’t show anything unexpected – I was waiting to see pearls drop to the ground in slow motion – but the first episode of these Telltale series are generally just setting the tone.

Some familiar faces pop up in the trailer, too, all of them revealed by the voice cast released so far.

“Telltale’s vision of Batman will feature an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle,” says the Telltale press release. “Additional cast and characters will be revealed as the season progresses.”
