The Bureau has been trailered to impressive (mass) effect

Here are four minutes of The Bureau: Not Quite XCOM, in which time you’ll watch an unseen player wear out its squad command wheel. The Battle Focus ability, as it’s named, has already merited plenty of (warranted) comparison to Mass Effect. But in the event, Agent Carter seems far more flexible in his dictation than the so-called commander Shepard.

His tactical options are in some respects more complex than those offered in recent entries in both the Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon series – though some would argue that’s more indicative of a decline in genre standards than anything else. In any case, Carter can tell his squaddies both where to go and what to do when they get there:

Is it just me, or did I see a string of 2K Marin’s BioShock DNA left in the canny combination of Carter’s turret placement and elevation powers? I do hope I’m not wrong. Read Steve’s hands-on if you’re similarly intrigued.

Thanks, CVG.
