Black Ops 3 Nuketown map isn’t the universal pre-order bonus we thought it was

Black Ops 3

Nuketown was Black Ops 1’s most popular map, and since then has become Black Ops’ most popular pre-order bonus – returning first as a future ‘50s model home affair in the sequel, and then in the new iteration as an apparent VR simulation.

It had appeared as if everyone who pre-ordered Black Ops III would be getting Nuk3town. I mean, the description on Activision’s support page was pretty explicit about it.

Have you crouch-walked your way through all of the best first-person shooters on PC?

“Please note,” it read. “All players who pre-order or pre-purchase Call of Duty: Black Ops III on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will receive the NUK3TOWN Bonus Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer.”

And yet, in the UK at least, that hasn’t panned out. While the Steam version does come bundled with NUK3TOWN, only physical editions purchased from GAME will include the map. Players who pre-ordered from retailers like Amazon – where the shooter was slightly cheaper – will lose out when Black Ops III releases tomorrow.

Here’s the official NUK3TOWN trailer, which you can watch either to pine or to see the expiry date of GAME’s deal. It’s in the small print at the end – spring 2016.

Is Nuketown still top of the Blops maps, do you think?
