Obsidian is down one very talented scribe, today. Chris Avellone, who co-founded the studio and has written for and designed some of the most notable RPGs in the last fifteen years, announced that he had officially left Obsidian Entertainment on Twitter.
I have officially left Obsidian Entertainment to accept a sudden opening as the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts.

Avellone hasn’t said where he’s moving to, though it wouldn’t be surprising if he found himself at inXile. He worked on Wasteland 2 and has writing and consultant roles on Tides of Numenera, the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, which Avellone was lead designer on.
