ESL partner with University of York for esports education

ESL has entered a partnership with the University of York to offer education based around esports.

Start training for esports university by finding the right MOBA for you.

The tournament organiser will be working with students at the university to hold master classes, workshops, and other boons designed to help introduce students to the world of esports content production and the “needs of the industry” while providing dissertations on esports and the like.

Students will receive “hands-on experience” and industry placement for lucky PhD students. PhD internships will also be held through the Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence PhD program and Digital Creativity Labs. Some of what participants will study include game analytics, storytelling, behavioral psychology, and a swath of other topics.

This is a big step forward for esports enthusiasts, especially students who want to make it a regular part of their lives. So if you’ve been looking to make things like Rocket League a part of your curriculum, that’s certainly not too far away from becoming a reality.
