CCP have revealed how EVE will be presented in its installation at the Museum of Modern Art when it, with 13 other games, will each be shown around the gallery as part the institutes permanent collection. Taking video captured by EVE players and combining the footage with data sourced from 1.2 terabytes of data lifted from the game’s servers, CCP have created a piece called “a day in the universe”.

Details below.

CCP opted for the player-sourced approach because, according toTorfi Frans Olafsson, Creative Director, EVE IP Development Division, they“couldn’t imagine telling the story of theEVE Universewithout putting our players and their actions front and center”.

This has been a big year for CCP, they’ve launched the open beta of the PS3 shooter DUST 514, which is linked in to EVE’s universe, they recently crossed the 500,000 subscriber mark, and on 6 May they’ll be celebrating EVE’s 10 year anniversary.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 31 January, 2014.

Cheers, VG247.
