Fallout 76 is releasing on November 14, 2018. That makes it one of the very few games this year with a team behind it who are brave enough to go up against Red Dead Redemption 2, which launches in the last week of October – it even succeeded in scaring Call of Duty out of its traditional November release window.
Alongside the announcement of the Fallout 76 release date we have got a bunch of details about how the game will play. For starters, it is all about multiplayer, which is a first for the post-apocalyptic RPG.
Fallout 76 might be one of the best multiplayer games on PC.
It’s not the first RPG focused on multiplayer for Bethesda, however, as the studio previously released The Elder Scrolls Online, which – it turns out – will be getting two expansions later this year. Hopefully, Bethesda is able to take the experience it has now got from that MMO and apply it make Fallout 76 a success.
One of the biggest questions hanging over Fallout 76 is how it will work if players are able to nuke each other. No other online game has had a feature quite as dramatic as that.
