BioShock Infinite writer Drew Holmes is penning Far Cry 5’s story

Far Cry 5 cult

Drew Holmes’ journey in the world of videogames has been an interesting one. He started out at Volition, working in quality assurance on a bunch of titles, including Saints Row. He then swapped out dildo bats for a pen and wrote stuff – probably about dildo bats – for Saints Row 2.

Holmes then worked on Red Faction: Guerrilla as a writer, as well as Saints Row: The Third, before landing a lead writer gig on Red Faction: Armageddon.

After that, Holmes left Volition and moved to 2K where he worked with Ken Levine on BioShock Infinite. He then worked as a co-lead writer on that game’s DLC, taking on the unenviable job of tying all the BioShock mythos together.

He’s now over at Ubisoft, working as lead writer on Far Cry 5. That means Holmes has covered the colonisation of Mars, gang warfare, quantum physics, and now he’s writing about religious cults.

I was already pretty pumped for Far Cry 5 because of its interesting setting, but I’m confident Holmes will make sure the story actually leverages it.
