FIFA 15’s Luis Suarez serving same suspension as IRL counterpart

Suarez: away in FIFA 15

‘Chewy’ Luis Suarez is one of the top players in FIFA 15. A new season buff has left him with an overall rating of 89 – the seventh highest in the whole game. But the escapades of the striker’s unruly real-life namesake have left him unavailable for in-game play until late October.

The Uruguayan player bit a chunk out of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup this year, and was summarily banned from “all football activities” by the sport’s international governing body, FIFA.

As it turns out, that suspension has been applied with the same rigour in FIFA 15, released on PC last week. Eurogamer report that searches on the transfer market return no results for Suarez.

Take control of Barcelona, the side Suarez transferred to this summer, and you’ll receive an email from the team’s chief executive informing you that the striker is unavailable for selection until October 26.

EA Canada aren’t the only PC developers to stick the boot in. In July, Sports Interactive updated Suarez’s Football Manager stats to include a perfect ‘biting’ rating of 20.
