Possible fix found by players regarding For Honor’s stuttering issue

Possible fix found by players for For Honor’s stuttering issue

There’s no denying For Honor is a stunning game, but many users on the game’s forum are finding severe stuttering issues. I’ve been having them myself, generally when I enter combat/guard mode. However, a bit of investigating on the game’s forums reveals this YouTube guide, which some users have found to ease, if not solve, the issue entirely.

Samurai, Vikings and Knights not your kind of combat? There are plenty of other quality war games waiting for you to conquer.

I personally found this issue as soon as I started playing, even after installing the latest official Nvidia drivers. As soon as I entered combat mode during both the tutorial and campaign, the game would pause and stutter like a Viking who has drunk just a little too much beer.

It’s not like my rig is weak – a GeForce GTX 1070, i5-6600K CPU overclocked to 4.5GHz and 16GB of DDR4 2666MHz memory should make run it like a dream. But it appears I’m not the only one with the issue, as the official For Honor forum has several threads with the exact same problem.

Ubisoft’s official response is to disconnect any Bluetooth controllers; problem is, I don’t have any attached to my system.

However, it appears that community YouTube channel TechFixIt may have found a temporary solution. The video above details it in full, but it basically changes the priority of the For Honor process, while removing a single core from its use. It made a drastic change to my experience, albeit not fixing it entirely. Let us know how it goes for you, but remember you’ll need to do it every time you start the game.
