Fortnite porn searches for “black hole” were up 10,000% while the game was down

Well, you've gotta do something while your game of choice is down

What do you do when your favourite online game goes down? There’s a strong statistical probability that the answer is ‘look at pornography,’ and hundreds of thousands of Fortnite fans proved it by flocking to porn searches while the game was absorbed in a black hole. Fortnite Chapter 2 may be upon us, but some things never change.

Fortnite-related searches on sexual health site PornHub peaked at 152% above average while the game was down on October 14, according to an Insights blog post from the site. (As always, that blog is safe for work, but do mind your browser history.) That percentage represents “hundreds of thousands of additional searches.”

Searches for the term “black hole” were up even more astronomically, peaking at 9640% above average on October 14. Some of those searches specified “fortnite black hole.” (Presumably, the term might usually mean something else in the context of porn.) More broadly, traffic from users identified as gamers was also up, peaking at 10.6% above average on Sunday evening.

While that all provides us some specifics on porn habits during the black hole event, we already knew that interest in Fortnite porn goes up when Fortnite goes down. During the game’s big (unplanned) downtime last year, use of Pornhub went way up.

And Fortnite porn is now bigger than Overwatch porn so, uh, good job, I guess?

If you’re looking for more on the game itself – PCGN is a videogame site, I swear – check out the Fortnite Hidden F location (oh, God, now that sounds dirty too) for help finding the latest loading screen hint.
