GDQ is back for COVID-19 relief – Halo, Zelda, and Dark Souls kick things off today

The charity stream is underway - watch it here

While Summer Games Done Quick has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, speedrunners are still getting together under the GDQ banner – this time, to support relief efforts for COVID-19. Corona Relief Done Quick is now underway, kicking off a weekend of speedruns benefiting medical charity Direct Relief.

The marathon is already underway as this story goes live, and is scheduled to last through Sunday, April 19. The day one highlights include 101% Donkey Kong Country kick-off and a co-op Zelda: Ocarina of Time randomizer, but there’s plenty of stuff for fans of old PC games today, too – including a Halo 1 run on Legendary, an all bosses Dark Souls effort, and an any% run of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

You can watch the marathon on Twitch, and donate via the official site. 100% of the donations go straight to Direct Relief. The charity works with health providers worldwide to help distribute resources and provide help as needed – and, of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has strained those resources even further.

Check out the full schedule on the official site, and watch the stream below.

Stick around to enjoy some games and help a good cause.
