Ghost Recon Wildlands dumps the Ghost squad in an open world

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Ubisoft continues its efforts to make everything an open world game today, by announcing Ghost Recon Wildlands. The Ghosts have been sent into Bolivia, an open world full of cartel targets, to take down the Santa Blanca drug carter.

Watch the squad shoot many men and find lots of drugs below.

The trailer shows off a few different mission types, ranging from stealthy to explosive, and including some vehicular chases and combat.

I don’t know why Ubisoft is so obsessed with open world games, like, really obsessed, and Ghost Recon seems like a bizarre choice for the publishers next open world venture. A reactive world that changes based on player actions, and one that’s ripe for exploration, all sounds fine, but I’m not sure I see what a Ghost Recon game gets from it.

Oh well!

Ghost Recon Wildlands features 4-player co-op as well as single-player, and is due out on PC at some point before the heat death of the universe.
