GTA 5 Freemode Events update is live now

Grand Theft Auto V Freemode Events

Update: It’s live now, with 19 new Freemode challenges and two adversary modes.

Next week, Rockstar’s updating Grand Theft Auto Online’s Freemode with a new set of criminal activities: Freemode Events. These events won’t rip you out of the open world or plonk you into a lobby; instead they’ll occur spontaneously in Freemode itself offering new game modes and challenges.

“At any given moment while in Freemode, one of these events may kick off and players can tailor and customize their session to decide exactly which ones they want to occur,” explain Rockstar. “With countless variations on each Freemode Event, there are tons of unique new experiences each offering new opportunities for reaping GTA$ and RP in GTA Online.”

There’s the every man for himself turf war, King of the Castle, where a specific building is designated the castle, and crooks will have to fight each other off for dominance; the werewolf-themed Hunt the Beast mode that transforms one player into a monster and sends everyone after them; and lots of stunt challenges that will task players will pulling off the longest wheelie they can or spending the most time gracefully streaking across the sky in a vehicle that really out to be on the ground.

Along with Freemode Events, the update will also include two new Adversary Modes: Hunting Pack, where players will have to deliver a vehicle that will explode if it slows down, like Speed, and Cross the Line, which pits heavily-armed teams against each other as they try to capture territory.

This is all coming on September 15th.
