June 13, 2019 A “luxury casino” is opening soon in Rockstar’s open-world.
It looks like Grand Theft Auto V’s long-abandoned casino is about to open its doors. Following reports last week that the casino, which has been inaccessible since the game launched in 2013, was going to be made playable in an upcoming update, Rockstar Games has issued a tweet seemingly confirming the new arrival.
The tweet, which we’ve embedded further down this article, says that “a luxury casino in the heart of Vinewood” is “opening soon,” and features a new GTA Online logo surrounded by diamonds, poker chips, playing cards, and a roulette wheel. After years of secrecy, the announcement isn’t exactly subtle.
The tweet comes in the wake of evidence from prolific dataminer TezFunz2, who said that the casino will be a new business featured in the next major update. That update will likely hit early in July, though it could be as soon as the end of this month. A recent update replaced the ‘coming soon’ signs on the door of the building with construction signs, suggesting an imminent change.
I imagine that Rockstar isn’t about to simply open up an online casino in its game, and will instead allow players to own and operate the building.

Either way, it looks like we can very nearly put the long wait for the casino to bed.
