Guild Wars 2 is getting a preview weekend from August 11-13 in the wake of the announcement of Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, the second expansion to the popular MMO.

Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire was announced last week. The expansion will add new stories to the world which focus around the unexpected return of Balthazar, the god of fire and war, and humanity’s attempt to bring an end to the terror Balthazar and his armies are wreaking in the southern parts of the world.
Other additions will include new maps, the introduction of mounts, and elite late-game class specialisations which bring new playstyles, weapons, and traits to the game.
The preview weekend, which will go live in just a few days, will offer a slice of content from the new expansion, including part of Path of Fire’s opening story and the possibility to explore the Crystal Oasis on one of the game’s new mounts.
