Halo 6 could be VR compatible

Halo 5

Microsoft haven’t given much away about Halo 6 but a recent job listing suggests the upcoming title will be VR compatible.

Which games should you play with a VR headset? Here’s a list of the best VR games on PC.

According to a job listing, posted by Microsoft on LinkedIn (via Gaming Bolt), Halo developers 343 Industries are looking for a creative director to join them “in delivering an all new VR experience in the Halo universe.”

“Halo is known for its epic sci-fi worlds, its transmedia storytelling, and its heroic gameplay – VR brings the potential for a new level of immersion in our universe,” the job description reads. “We are looking for an inspiring individual to help us pave this new path in partnership with an external development studio. You are well-versed in the balance between narrative imperatives and game mechanics, you drive for innovation and craftsmanship, and you are inspired by the idea of bringing Halo to life in a whole new way.”

The description covers both narrative, and game mechanics suggesting Microsoft are hiring someone to work on a new game rather than just adding VR compatibility to a previous Halo game.

Microsoft currently make their own Windows mixed reality VR headsets, so it would make sense for the company to further utilise these headsets by creating more VR compatible games.

Microsoft have been contacted for comment.
