Hearthstone gets Rastakhan’s Rumble in December

Hearthstone's next expansion is Rastakhan's Brawl, focusing on the ceremonial battle between all of Azeroth's trolls factions

The next Hearthstone expansion has just been confirmed at BlizzCon 2018. Rastakhan’s Rumble was originally leaked by Blizzard Korea’s YouTube channel, and has now been officially announced at the developer’s annual convention in Los Angeles.

If you’re up to date with your Warcraft lore, you’ll know that the arrival of Rastakhan means that trolls will feature pretty heavily in the new expansion, which is the third and final update heading to the game as part of the Year of the Raven. Once in a generation, Azeroth’s trolls assemble for a brawl to determine who will receive the favour of their king. This time around, they’ll be represented by nine teams, all taking part in their tradition.

For players, that means that each Hearthstone class will be represented by a Legendary Troll champion. There’ll also be Legendary Loa, spirits worshipped by the Trolls, who’ll take part as minions. For Paladins, for example, there’ll be Shirvallah the Tiger, a 25-mana card who’ll need you to cast plenty of spells on to bring them to the battlefield.

The next expansion’s unique mechanic is called Overkill, which allows you to attack multiple times in a round. The troll theme will come as little surprise to fans, who correctly guessed the nature of the third expansion via a Blizzard teaser way back in February.

Rastakhan’s Rumble launches on December 4. Look forward to more info on the expansion throughout the remainder of BlizzCon.
