Sam Barlow, creator of indie hit Her Story, is creating a spiritual follow-up to his FMV mystery game. This time he has the backing of Annapurna Pictures, the motion picture production company responsible for Sausage Party.

Telling Lies will be a cinematic experience just like Her Story, but it’s going to have much higher production values. There will be three or four characters this time around, and Annapurna are hoping to add some A-list acting talent.
As well as new characters, this one will jump across multiple locations. Her Story was focused on a single character and the entire game was set within tapes from a police interview room. Hopefully Telling Lies can retain that magic while also increasing the scope.
It’s going to be a while before we can play it, though, as scripting is currently underway and talent is not yet scouted. Shooting for the political thriller will begin towards the end of the year, or early 2018.
