Bae ‘Bengi’ Seong-woong, one of only two players to win three League of Legends world championships (in 2013, 2015 and 2016), has been kicked out of his team in a unanimous decision by his own team-mates.

The news comes via Vici Gaming’s Warcraft III player Zhuo ‘TeD’ Zeng, who, according to Inven Global, revealed that Bengi had been released on a stream two days ago. He also says that Lu ‘HunTeR’ Wenjun has been demoted from team CEO to head coach.

The decisions were apparently taken in a VG team meeting, where a ballot was held to pick the worst-performing player. Bengi was chosen unanimously, leading to his ejection from the team.

Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, considered by many to be the best LoL player in the world, is the only player other than Bengi to win three world titles. They accomplished the feat when playing together in SKT T1, Bengi’s former team, where Faker still plays.

Clearly, Bengi has failed to recreate the chemistry he had with Faker in his new team; VG failed to qualify through the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) summer promotions, and have now been relegated to the LSPL.
