Update 2 May 2017: Pulsefire Caitlyn has been officially announced via the League of Legends Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Stay up to date on the latest changes with our guide to League of Legends patch 7.9.

The video (see below) shows the rifle-wieldingsheriff of Piltover sporting a significantly more advanced firearm. This new skin will be available to sample in the PBE from tomorrow and you can expect more details in our patch post coming soon.

Original story 24 April 2017: A new voice line on the League of Legends PBE teases a possible Pulsefire skin for Caitlyn.

If you’ve got Ezreal’s ‘Pulsefire’ ultimate skin, you can hear the teaser for yourself. Simply go into a game with Pulsefire Ezreal and move him anywhere – he’ll request a diagnostic, and be interrupted by a voice saying “nowhere to hide”. You can see this in the following video, courtesy of SkinSpotlights:

“Nowhere to hide” is one of Caitlyn’s lines, and is a friend of Ezreal according to League lore. It’s also worth noting that, five months ago, Riot’s personalisation manager ‘SuperCakes’ said “I think the chances of a [Pulsefire Ezreal] rework are pretty high.” Pulsefire Ezreal was one of the first ultimate skins Riot made, and while exciting at its initial release, has suffered in comparison to more recent ultimates such as Elementalist Lux.

“We aren’t trying to get Pulsefire Ezreal to the same quality level as DJ Sona or Elementalist Lux,”says SuperCakes. “To do that, we’d have to start from scratch… That said, there’s a lot we can do to increase the quality of this skin, and those are the things we’ll be taking a look at.”

Could the rework come as part of a package with Pulsefire Caitlyn?

Thanks, Surrender@20.
