Mafia 3 trailer is a live-action flavour sampler, and it tastes a bit gritty

Mafia 3 trailer

If Mafia 3’s dark and gritty trailers just aren’t real enough for you, perhaps 2K’s latest offering of hype building will be more to your taste. It’s one of those live-action trailers that publishers so often kick out when their games are kinda real.

Enjoy filling people with bullets? Then you’ll love these fantastic first-person shooters

The trailer makes little sense without a bit of context, so let us help out a little (or you could just watch a more informative trailer below). Those photos show images of vietnam veteran Lincoln Clay, the protagonist of the game, who is part of the Black Mob. His gang mates were murdered in an attack by the Italian Mafia, which appears to be shown here too.

The main character in the trailer is quite clearly a Mafia boss, thanks to following distinct stereotypes of how godfathers look (cheers, Marlon). A sequences sees a faceless character that appears to be Lincoln pulling a gun on this boss and shooting him dead. Footage intercut between this shows the Mafia boss being dressed for his funeral.

All gritty and dark, but adding little to what we already know, or revealing anything interesting about the game itself. But hey, if you like your games being tuned into mini films, there’s an extra minute for your collection.

The computer game version of Mafia 3 releases October 7.
