Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes system requirements

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the short but sweet starter to Phantom Pain’s main course is finally hitting PC next month, and conveniently the minimum and recommended system requirements have been revealed.

Check below to see if your rig will be up to snuff, able to render Snake’s lovely bottom in all its glory.

Minimum:

OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later

Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above

Memory: 4 GB RAM or above

Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 or above

DirectX: Version 11 or above

Recommended:

OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later

Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above

Memory: 8 GB RAM or above

Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or above

DirectX: Version 11 or above

A GTX 650 minimum is quite high, more what you’d expect for a recommended GPU. It’s especially surprising because Ground Zeroes launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as their shinier big siblings, so it’s not like the game wasn’t originally designed with tech that’s a bit long in the tooth in mind.

That was, apparently, the whole point of the Fox Engine, it’s a cross-platform, cross-generation engine.

Rest assured, we’ll be taking a good long look at it in a Port Review.
