Metal Wolf Chaos XD has been revealed

Metal Wolf Chaos XD

Metal Wolf Chaos XD has just been announced by Devolver Digital. The game, which is a remaster of FromSoftware’s (yes, that FromSoft) 2004 cult hit, will release later this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

The trailer for the game, revealed at Devolver’s frankly mad E3 conference, doesn’t make a lot of sense, if I’m honest. Maybe it does if you played the original game, but that’s something that I very much did not do. You can watch the trailer, which notes that the remastered version of the game will include upgraded visuals, widescreen capability, and the classic voiceover, at the bottom of this article.

Devolver have delivered, so we will too – here are some great old games you can still enjoy.

To find out more about the game, you can visit the excellently named MechAmericaGreatAgain.com (although it does currently appear to have crashed).

If you’re looking for what the game is actually about, I’ve got you covered. It’s a third person shooter set in the near future where America has plunged into civil and economic unrest (no, it’s not a documentary, I promise). Taking the issue into hisown hands, the president secures himself a mech, before seeking revenge against the vice president who has unseated him in a military coup/

You might be interested to learn that Devolver teased the Metal Wolf Chaos reveal last week, to more or less everyone’s surprise. That surprise largely stemmed from the fact that this is a game that never saw a Western release – its popularity stemmed from a series of YouTube videos thanks to its full English voice acting.
