You can now sign up for the Microsoft Flight Simulator alpha

The Insider program is getting on the runway

September 13, 2019 Registration for the Microsoft Flight Simulator tech alpha is live.

Microsoft Flight Simulator’s Insider Program has been live for a bit now, and it’s offered up some gorgeous screenshots as well as early development details on the venerable series’ apparent return to form. If you’ve been holding off on getting in, you might want to get on that soon, as sign-ups for the tech alpha – you know, the part where you get to play the game early – are live.

You can head to the official site to get into the Insider Program if you haven’t already, but either way you’ll need to complete an additional survey before you can be selected for the tech alpha. The alpha itself will be subject to NDAs, so if you want to know what the game will look like, you’re going to need to sign up to play it for yourself.

Insiders will get more details on what to expect from the alpha on September 19, including the “release timeline” for the preview build.

For now, you can enjoy a whole bunch of new screenshots and gameplay videos as part of the program. (Seriously, they look so gorgeous.)

Microsoft has continued to emphasise the “simulator” that has now returned to the series’ title, and it looks like we’ll see exactly how serious the developers are about that moniker very soon.
