With Halloween creeping up on us, what better way to embrace the fear than turning your next game of Minecraft into a living nightmare? Minecraft on its own can be relatively thrilling at times with its various angry mobs of spiders, zombies, and skeletons – though the fear factor tends to wear off after a while, as it becomes second nature to kill off those pesky foes.

Horror Movie Monsters

For the classic Halloween experience, delve straight into a mod full of the most famous horror movie monsters. Escape the hungry fangs of Dracula, run screaming from Frankenstein’s monster, and avoid getting slashed into pieces by Michael Myers. You can download Horror Movie Monsters here.

CreepyPastaCraft Reborn

Bring those eerie internet urban legends to life with CreepyPastaCraft Reborn. From the leg-tearing Strider to the infamous Slenderman, your nightmares are guaranteed to be brought to life with this mod. There’s even a Squidward mob… alive and dead. Follow the link to encounter the disturbing horrors.

Resident Evil MC

Experience the iconic Capcom game series in block form. Resident Evil MC is the ideal mod for survival horror fans, with its recreation of all Resident Evil enemies, bosses, items, and weapons, from each and every game – including the spin-offs. Take your chances with this mod by clicking here.

AbyssalCraft

Walk among unnatural spirits and dark magic in the Minecraft mod, AbyssalCraft. Heavily inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos, this mod will have you encountering greater evil than you can imagine, in four gloomy dimensions known as The Abyss. To get out alive, and mostly sane, you’ll need to find magical keys, cast eldritch rituals, and use numerous forbidden artefacts against unearthly bosses. Enter the dark side here.

Sculkhunt

Take part in an enhanced game of manhunt with the mod, Sculkhunt. In a group of four to eight players, you must attempt to outrun the Sculk trackers. One out of five players will be chosen to become a Sculk tracker while the rest start the game as survivors. The survivors aim to reach a stronghold and travel through the end portal to escape being killed by the Sculk trackers. Survivors have just one life, and once they are killed they must join the Sculk trackers to hunt the remaining survivors. Join the deadly game here.

Trick or Treat

Knock on your neighbours’ doors for some tasty Halloween goodies with Trick or Treat. This multiplayer-focused mod consists of various mob-themed candies for you to collect throughout your game. From creeper fizzlers, to sour patch zombies, Trick or Treat is jam-packed with deadly, delicious delights. Get your hands on as many spooky sugars as you wish here.

Unusual Ends

Add some simple yet compelling additional content to the End in your games with the mod, Unusual Ends. Without damaging the already spooky atmosphere of the void, Unusual Ends brings a few new structures, mobs, and even a new boss, to fill the environment with more horrors than before. The passive Ender Fireflies wander the End and can be tamed or used to get rid of Endermites. The Endstone Golem possesses an almost unbeatable health bar and has the power to slow down your movements and building ability. Download Unusual Ends to prove your strength.

Bewitchment

Witches and vampires and werewolves, oh my! Bewitchment is the ultimate transformation mod for any player who wants the old-school Halloween experience. In this mod, you’ll get to join a coven and grow your very own botanical garden to brew magical potions or cast enchantments and curses on enemies. Plus, you’ll get to fly about on a broomstick. Hop on board here.

Biomancy

Reduce, reuse, and recycle the dead and all of their parts in Biomancy. This mod is slightly more unsettling than the rest, in a sickening kind of way. To begin your experiments, download the mod today.

Cosy Comforts

For something a little less deadly and significantly more wholesome, Cosy Comforts is the perfect mod to install this Halloween. Fancy roasting marshmallows by the campfire, then snuggling up in your sleeping bag to stare at the moon? Or feel like carving creepy designs into pumpkins? Go for it – this mod has everything you need to relax with your buddies or alone. Get stuck into Cosy Comforts here.

You can experience most of these spooky mods by installing the Curseforge app now.
