Overkill’s making a “Payday-esque” Walking Dead Game

Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead’s creator says that Overkill’s game is “Payday-esque.”

Talking at SXSW, Kirkman revealed that it would be larger than Payday but they’re incorporating a lot of what they’ve learned from their co-op shooter into the Walking Dead game.

“I can say that it will be Payday-esque because [Starbreeze and Overkill] are currently doing Payday,” Kirkman said at a SXSW panel. “I’m told it will be in a bigger world than Payday currently encompasses. They are going to be learning a lot of stuff from Payday that they will be incorporating into The Walking Dead game.”

We’ve heard little about the game since it was announced by Starbreeze in August last year. Kirkman promises “There will be announcements about that game very soon.”

Kirkman was playing coy during the panel, clearly unwilling to say too much about the game but, when asked if it would be an online co-op game, like Payday, he said “I think it is pretty safe to say that the Starbreeze game will be online and interactive. It is [safe to say] and it is [online] and i just said it. Payday is an online cooperative game correct? Yes. So it will be it will follow a similar approach. That’s good news.”

Cheers, Polygon.
