Early 2014, November 2014, March 17th, April 2nd – the one thing these dates have in common is Project CARS. They’ve all been the game’s release dates and windows. Last month the release date was pushed back from March to April because small adjustments were being made.
It sounds like the adjustments ended up needing to be a little bigger, because it has been pushed back yet again, by another month.
“Despite our long heritage and pedigree in making critically-acclaimed racing games, Project CARS is by far the grandest and most intricately detailed of them all. Despite therefore the game being 99.9% complete, the remaining 0.1% attending to small issues and bugs has been tricky to anticipate. We’re absolutely dedicated to delivering a ground-breaking experience and by targeting mid-May fans can be assured that’s what they’ll receive” said Ian Bell, Head of Studio at Slightly Mad Studios.
To make up for the frequent release date changes, Slightly Mad is giving all players some free content, which will be available from launch and detailed by the studio soon.
Project CARS is due out in mid-May.
