Bandai Namco’s mysterious #Projekt1514 is a new Sword Art Online game

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Announcement Trailer

Bandai Namco have revealed Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet, a new third-person action game releasing in early 2018.

The publisher recently unveiled a teaser trailer for a mystery game entitled #Projekt1514. There wasn’t much to go on other than it was being developed by Dimps and it featured a post-apocalyptic cityscape and bullets… which means it could’ve been any videogame ever, let’s face it.

Speaking of the apocalypse, here are the best survival games on PC.

Game Jouhou (via Siliconera) spotted the premature publication of a video, which suggested #Projekt1514 was actually a new Sword Art Online game given both teasers used the same logo. The video was swifly pulled, but not long after Bandai Namco formally revealed Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet trailer – and it turns out the rumours were true.

Bandai describes the new SAO action game as a “unique hybrid shooter/RPG action dynamic [game] balancing gun and sword play with skill and gadget combat.”

“Become the hero of Gun Gale Online, step into the versatile landscapes and environments of the digital world, interact with characters from the Sword Art Online original novels, anime and previous games as you navigate a world that is vastly personalized and visually enhanced and play as the protagonist fighting against opponents using new weapons and further customize gameplay by creating skills and abilities.”

Right now all we know is that it’s coming to PC in “early 2018” but as always, we’ll keep you posted.
