qube 2 release date

The original Q.U.B.E. was a standout among a wave of first-person puzzle games that came after the launch of Portal, and the developers have even bigger plans in mind for the sequel they announced last year. Now Q.U.B.E. 2 has a release date, and it’s barely a month away.

Find out more about the brain-twisting puzzles of Q.U.B.E. 2.

Q.U.B.E. 2 launches March 13 on PC – as well as consoles, if PlayStation 4 or Xbox One is your jam.

You’ll be leaving the simple white test rooms of the original in order to solve puzzles across a vast, ancient landscape. As Amelia Cross, you’re looking for a means of escape from an alien world with the help of a fellow survival, and this focus on story promises to give Q.U.B.E. 2 from the start what the original game lacked until its director’s cut.

Of course, the core game is still about shifting shapes around to solve puzzles in the new landscape, challenging you with 80 unique puzzle rooms spread across 11 areas in a massive, maze-like structure.

“When we made the first Q.U.B.E. we were still students,” Toxic Games managing director Dan Da Rocha says, “but after a half decade of real industry experience we’ve put together the kind of premium product we’ve always dreamed of. We hope you have as much fun playing it as we did making it.”
