Bathing suits might be required for Rift 3.0: Nightmare Tide

Rift: Nightmare Tide

Rift is levelling up to 3.0, apparently. That’s with the upcoming major content update: Nightmare Tide. The update serves as an answer to the question of what’s on the other side of the rifts that plague the world? Nightmare Tide will send players into the Plane of Water.

Unfortunately, it’s not all splishing, splashing fun at the beach. It’s a “realm of nightmares, dreams, madness and danger where you’ll encounter new foes, new allies, and confront plots that threaten the entirety of existence,” says producer Bill Fisher.

The new realm brings with it more zones, storylines, dynamic battles, quests and dungeons for adventurers to discover, and introduces the new Nightmare Rift: “These rifts feature scaling difficulty and nearly endless waves of foes to test your skills and determination. Twisted enemies, hectic challenges, and a surreal environment await those who are up to the challenge,” explains Fisher.

If you fancy having a lackey to delegate missions to, then you might want to play around with Nightmare Tide’s minions. They’ll go on quests for resources and hunt down items, getting in scraps and levelling up.

The update cranks up the level cap to 65, and of course you’ll be able to deck yourself out in the latest Plane of Water fashions thanks to all the new equipment and gear that’s on the way.

There are still two updates left to go before Nightmare Tide, so Trion’s going to be adding new dungeons and quest-lines all the way up to 3.0.
