Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Google Stadia

Cyberpunk 2077 has been announced for Google's streaming service, Stadia

Cyberpunk 2077

Google has just begun its latest Stadia Connect stream, and it kicked off proceedings with a major game announcement: Cyberpunk 2077 will be coming to the cloud streaming service.

CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated title, Cyberpunk 2077, will launch on April 16, 2020. Following the launch, the title will also be made available to stream to a variety of devices through the Google Stadia service up in the cloud. That means you’ll be able to play your own story in Night City right there in your Chrome browser or via a tiny little Chromecast… damn.

If that’s something that appeals to you, Stadia is currently available for preorder for $129. That gets you in as one of the first to play this November when the streaming service launches. Currently only the Founders Edition is available to purchase, which includes a Stadia controller, Destiny 2, and a three month Stadia Pro subscription for you and a friend. Following that, at the beginning of 2020, everyone else will be able to try out the service.

With Cyberpunk 2077’s release date later in the year, that means you won’t actually need to be in that initial batch of Founders Edition players. The game has also been announced as an upcoming Nvidia RTX title, so don’t entirely rule out local hardware just yet.

But Stadia has also promised bespoke platform functionality for games developed for its service. Google is yet to confirm whether Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting that treatment, however, so we will have to wait for further details closer to launch.
