Modders have given Darth Vader a pink makeover in Star Wars Battlefront 2

Star Wars Battlefront 2 pink Darth Vader

You underestimate the power of the Dark Side, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen. After Jorgensen said in 2017 that one of the reasons why a cosmetic system in Star Wars Battlefront 2 wouldn’t work is that you’d “violate the canon” of Star Wars, fans have been making cosmetic mods for the game. Now, the example he gave, of a pink Darth Vader that Jorgensen says you “probably don’t want,” is the subject of a new mod for Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In case you want more space games, that may or may not have bright pink antagonists, we’ve got a list of the best space games on PC.

Created byDestauch and hosted on the Star Wars Battlefront 2 section of Nexus Mods, it caught PC Gamer’seyefirst, and DarthVaderModding on YouTube put together the above video to show off the custom skin. It uses the Frosty Mod Manager, but is otherwise pretty easy to install, if you want a pink Darth Vader.

Of course, it’s being used to make fun of Star Wars Battlefront 2’s lack of cosmetics, and Jorgensen’s statement from the Battlefront 2 loot box controversy. Whether you do want a pink Darth Vader or not, it’s now an option.

We did, however, do a little digging into the mods you can choose from on Nexus Mods. There’s not just a pink Darth Vader: there’s a white variant (also made to make fun of Jorgensen), a “‘murica Vader” skin that turns his cape into the American flag, and a mod simply titled “Stupid Sexy Chewie.” I’m not entirely sure what that one does.

Kotaku also found a mod that turns Kylo Ren into Matt the Technician, a character from a Saturday Night Live skit that parodies shows like Undercover Boss.

Turns out, people do want skins – even if one of them is to make a Wookie sexy.
