It’s been four years since Stardew Valley introduced a new generation to the gentle charms of farming RPGs, and since then, the game’s gotten a load of free content through regular updates. Update 1.4 was a doozy of an add-on with a frankly ridiculous amount of new content, and even as creator Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone has started to tease brand-new projects, yet more Stardew Valley content is on the way.
“Thanks everyone for the Stardew Valley 4-year anniversary wishes,” Barone tweets. “It’s been a pleasure, and I look forward to another great year! Now that 1.4 is out on all intended platforms, I’d like to announce that there will be another free content update (1.5)…it’s currently in the works!”
No word yet on what that content will be, but if previous updates are any indication, we’ll see a series of small teasers over a lengthy period until the patch is finally upon us. Previous updates have added everything from new clothing options to new buildings, festivals, NPCs, and even multiplayer.
After the monumental success of Stardew Valley sales, Barone is taking a casual approach to development from here.
I see this is blowing up and there are articles coming out, etc…. all I ask is please don't get too hyped at this stage. I want to avoid too much hype or speculation. I'd like to just make whatever game comes naturally to me without too much pressure or expectation.

Yes, farming games are good and they are clearly here to stay.
