Valve revealed massive figures for active users on Steam today at Steam Dev Days. The numbers have rocketed since earlier this year, where Valve announced the service had reached 65 million users in October. Apparently it’s jumped by another 10 million, putting the total at 75 million active users.
#SteamDevDays 75 million active users?! Holy crap

The surge in users, despite being significant, should not come as a surprise as Steam shepards more and more people to the platform through the Steam Early Access program. Where once Valve’s addition of indie games to the platform was draconian and unknowable, Greenlight and Early Access have seen the number of indie titles on the service rise considerably.
