Steam's winter sale kicks off next week if you want to do some last minute Christmas shopping

Steam winter sale

Paypal have casually revealed the start date for yet another big Steam sale, specifically the annual winter wale, designed to siphon off the last of your holiday budget.

Get prepared for December 22nd.

The days where I used to go nuts during Steam sales are long behind me, and this year I spent most of my Christmas budget before I’d even made it halfway down my list. I mainly blame my sister, who thinks that £50 for some stupid toiletries isn’t completely bonkers. Sisters are the worst.

Mind you, I’ll no doubt be keeping an eye on the sale regardless, on the off chance there’s a deal I simply cannot refuse.

Are you going to be opening your wallets up for Steam, or has Gaben lost his power over you?

I still have money leftover in my steam wallet from the summer sale.

But with the absence of flash/daily deals there's no reason to check the prices more than once.

Steam sales have long since been underwhelming for me mostly because I already own the things I want. But every now and then you'd be able to find a hidden gem in a flash deal.

Hoping for Helldivers and Vermintide, doubt the later.

I enjoyed waiting on the new flash sales, deals and community votes every 8/12/24 hours. I don't think it's going to have the same hype now that every max discount is set from the first moment.

It will have to be a very good deal to get me to buy. Too many games already and not enough time to play. The last 12 months seems to have been "the year of the bundle", so I think I will pass. I've cut up my credit cards however, just in case...

Last Black Friday sale was pretty underwhelming because even at 75% of some games are still too expensive for what they offer.
