Last week, at GDC, Gearbox announced the second episode in its collaboration with Telltale, Tales from the Borderlands. It’s been an excruciating four months since the launch of the first excellent episode, Zer0 Sum, almost as long as the massive gap between the first two episodes of The Wolf Among Us.
Titled “Atlas Mugged”, episode two is due out on the week of the 17th, that’s next week. To get you in the mood, here’s the new trailer trailer, complete with the spectre of Handsome Jack and a big ol’ monster.
In the first episode, Rhys, Vaughn, Fiona and Sasha broke into an old Atlas facility, from before Hyperion’s takeover of Pandora, and now they’re in a race to find out what the old company was up to all those years ago. Unfortunately, they’ve got to contend with Hyperion, bounty hunters and monsters.
I’m pretty sure that’s Athena we see for a split second in the trailer, too. An NPC in The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and a playable character in The Pre-Sequel, Athena helped the vault hunters in the original Borderlands take down Atlas before teaming up with Handsome Jack. Since Zer0 was in the first episode, perhaps this means we’ll be seeing cameo’s of a previously playable character in each episode.
