The Sims 4 Discover University lets you drown in student loan debt

A gameplay trailer shows all your wildest college fantasies coming true

The Sims is finally going back to school, as The Sims 4 is getting its college-themed expansion at last. Discover University leaked last month, and was made official shortly after. Now, EA has provided a new gameplay trailer and details on some additional features – including all the potential degree paths, your financial aid options, and the promise of getting to drown under the weight of student loan debt.

Discover University has two institutes: the arts and humanities-focused University of Britechester, and the tech and business powerhouse of Foxbury Institute. Either college gives you a path toward a degree in Art History, Culinary Arts, Drama, Fine Art, History, Language and Literature, Communications, Biology, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Psychology, or Villainy, though each university has its “distinguished” specialty programmes.

To help you pay for it all, you can apply for scholastic and athletic scholarships, or need-based financial aid – and if your Sim is already on a career path, you can also pick up a career scholarship. If you need additional help, your Sim can also take out student loans – though naturally, “payments will be due as soon as they graduate.”

For extra-curricular activity, you’ll be able to join esports and soccer teams, pull pranks, or head out to drink some, er, ‘juice.’ Your grades will drop if you don’t study, though, and that can put scholarships and grants in jeopardy.

Check out some of the new features in the gameplay trailer above, or on the official site.

Discover University launches for PC on November 15. We’ve got a big list of sandbox games if you’re looking for more options to play it your way in the meantime.
