Last week, Motherboard reported on deepfakes, a machine-learning algorithm developed by a redditor of the same name that allows users to swap the faces from one video onto the body of a person in another. The internet being what it is, this tech has been used almost exclusively to create porn.

This obviously threatens to set a terrifying precedent in terms of consent and privacy, and is further evidence of the horrifying dystopia we as a species have set ourselves on a collision course with. But the internet being what it is once again, a select few people have decided to use the algorithm to create porn starring characters from The Witcher 3.
As is probably obvious, the ‘stars’ of these videos are the game’s most prominent sorceresses. Triss Merigold and Yennefer have both received the deepfakes treatment, with, according to screenshots from PC Gamer, minimal success. There may very well be more out there but I’m not going to look for them while working in an open plan office.
