The cliffhanger at the end of Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us won’t ever be explained

This is one of the less subtle examples in the Bigby expression catalogue.

If you asked fans of Telltale’s games which of their series was the best, those who are correct, like me, would point at Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll see a follow up to either any time soon.

Check our list of upcoming PC games for all future releases.

Telltale have explicitly said they have no plans to continue the stories of their Borderlands characters, though they do note that Gearbox could use them in future Borderlands games, should they wish to. Considering I didn’t really care about Borderlands and its characters until Telltale did something with them, this isn’t the news I’d hoped for.

As for The Wolf Among Us, they’re not ruling out revisiting the series. The thing is, if they do, they won’t be doing a direct follow-up or answering the mystery of the first season’s cliffhanger ending.

“We have also been asked over and over again for some insight into the mystery at the end of the finale for TWAU,” Telltale head of creative communications Job Stauffer said during a recent AMA. “Something I've always wanted to admit is that while we do have a clear answer to who was who at the end of that story... we had also agreed to keep it a mystery for the fans to ponder on their own.

“Definitely fun to see all of the theories pour out, and exciting to pay off our neon-noir story with a femme fatale twist. Should we ever continue in the world of Fables and The Wolf Among Us... it is generally agreed upon here that we wouldn't continue that storyline directly, and would leave things an open mystery that's better left unanswered.”

Cheers, Eurogamer

Yup. Proper pissed at them for this. I did however buy all the Fables books not long after finishing the game. Its a great world worthy of a sequel. Shame.

Unfortunately The Wolf Among Us was in that unenviable position of being announced before The Walking Dead appeared, when Telltale could be a bit more niche. TWD blew up and Wolf Among Us was just something they had to finish.

I also recommend giving the Fables books a gander.
