The Astronauts have been keeping things pretty close to their chest in regards to weird occult horror game, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. We’ve seen gifs and screenshots, but until now, no action. Note how I said until now, that’s because the first trailer has been released.
It’s criminally gorgeous.
That’s a mighty fine looking forest. It should be, too, as The Astronauts have been using photogrammetry to bring the game to life. Photos of objects are taken from all angles and then scanned and turned into a 3D model. It sounds like a painstaking process, but the result is some remarkable environments.
There’s not much going on though. No occult trees or anything. And then splat!
I’m not sure what occult detective Paul Prospero can really do against chaps who bludgeon people, but no doubt we’ll find out when The Vanishing of Ethan Carter launches later this year.
