As Creative Assembly fire up the hype train for Total War: Warhammer II, we can expect to learn a lot more about its four core races before our final destination (i.e., release). It looks like the Lizardmen are our first stop, however: today, they’ve got a new in-engine trailer.
Catch up on everything we know about Total War: Warhammer II so far.
The High Elves, with typical arrogance, march on the Cosmic Gates – a device sacred to the Lizardmen which can open a portal to the realm of Chaos. Enacting the Old Ones’ Great Plan, as is his duty, Lord Mazdamundi sends an army to teach the warm-bloods a lesson in humility.
A swooping camera follows a squadron of Teradons as they drop rocks on the elves, some pretty impressive shots of the jungle in the background. The Saurus Lord Kroq-Gar also makes an appearance, his Carnosaur (which is likea T-Rex)chowing down on an elven lord.
It’s all rendered in-engine, so although the game’s actual battles won’t be scripted like this, these are actually the models you’ll see in the finished product.
Total War: Warhammer II is scheduled for a launch later this year, and we’ll no doubt see more at E3.
