Imagine Minecraft or Kerbal Space Program, but this time you are trying to craft a car that can travel over a huge expanse of rough terrain. Now you're picturing Trailmakers, a new vehicular, online sandbox game now available on Steam Early Access. You can purchase it or, if you stick with us, enter our giveaway to win a copy for free.
Want more? We have a big list of the best free Steam games.
Your opponent in Trailmakers is a dangerous wasteland. You will want to explore it as much as you can, discovering gruelling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts, as well as all the wildlife and weather that comes with each biome. The problem is that you need to build a vehicle that is capable of handling all of these different terrains and race it as part of a rally event.
Trailmakers has an intuitive builder that lets you drop blocks of parts together to form a working off-road car. You should be able to get to grips with it pretty easily. There's a sandbox mode that gives you full creative freedom if you want to test it in a less gruelling setting than the expedition mode.
Plus, Trailmakers is an online co-op game, so if your friends have already worked the game out you can bring them along for the ride to help you too. You can drive together across the wasteland, building vehicles and trying out the mini-games, if you so wish.
Want to win a copy of Trailmakers, then? We have ten Steam keys up for grabs and all you need to do is enter our giveaway through the widget below.
