Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, Frozenbyte’s painfully (because of the bloom) gorgeous co-op platforming puzzle sequel, is heading to Steam Early Access. It’ll land next week. You can gaze upon its lovely Early Access trailer below.
The previous games were 2D affairs, but Trine 3 has made the jump to 3D. It’s the reason that the developers have decided to make it available on Steam Early Access.
“Trine 3 is our first move towards 3D-gameplay in the Trine series, so we wanted to get in touch with our player-base in an early enough phase to collect feedback on the new gameplay features, so we can tweak those into the right direction. Early Access can hopefully provide us with lots of players willing to do this.”
The Early Access version, priced at £14.99/$19.99, will only contain 2 maps, but they’ll be available for co-op adventures, both local and online. The online co-op does have bugs, however, and Frozenbyte warns that problems are expected.
When it’s complete, it will also come with a level editor, challenge levels, and arounds six or seven hours of content.
Trine 3 will launch on Early Access on April 21st.
