Call a plumber: The Witcher 3 leak reveals ending, quests and E3 script

The Witcher 3 leak

A CD Projekt Red employee’s Google Drive has been hacked, and design documents for The Witcher 3 have been posted on 4Chan and Reddit, the developer has confirmed today.

The documents contain important information on the game ranging from quest details to The Witcher 3’s ending. The developer is advising people against looking at the content as it contains a great many spoilers.

“A portion of the files contains information about the story of the game so we strongly advise against accessing them, as this may heavily impact and spoil your future gaming experience,” CD Projekt’s Michal Platkow-Gilewski told Eurogamer.

Platkow-Gilewski went on to assure prospective players that the leak would have no impact on the game’s development cycle.

The leak is a major one, spoiling not just the game’s planned ending, but how it may differ depending on the choices that players make. It also contains a script for how the E3 demo needed to play out, including “boob physics eye candy [and] appropriately prepared dialogue”.

Another document shows that the game was feature complete as far back as February. “Content is still being developed, but design and feature set are locked,” the document reveals. “No known blockers are present, but random crashes, functional and cosmetic bugs may still occur. The entire game can be played without progression blocking issues on PC, XBONE and PS4 although performance is expected to be worse on consoles.”

Cheers, Eurogamer.
