Mists of Pandaria was Blizzard’s first big push into China, releasing only a week later in the region than the rest of the world. They aren’t revealing total sales numbers but Blizzard’s CEO Michael Morhaime did say during the Activision Blizzard’s third quarter calender 2012 results conference call that their peak usage has seen more than one million concurrent Chinese players.

More on this below.

Mists of Pandaria has done Blizzard proud. The game sold more than 2.7 million copies in its first week (before the game even released in China); it’s success drew an extra 900,000 subscribers to the game by 30 September -before Pandaria had even released – pushing the number of subscribers back over 10 million (having previously dipped to 9.1 million).
