DayZ team celebrate a year in the wild

DayZ

As 2014 comes to a close, the DayZ team at Bohemia Interactive are celebrating the first anniversary of DayZ being a standalone game. DayZ has been available in Early Access for a full year now, and has had thousands of players stab each other in the back over the months.

This new video celebrates the victories so far, with thoughts from lead designers Dean Hall and Peter Nespesny, and producer Brian Hicks.

The team seem pretty pleased with where they’ve managed to get to in the year, with Hicks especially commenting on how special the game is with its unpredictable nature and ever-changing experiences. The video offers a great demonstration of that, with everything from trucks disappearing into the ground to players holding their own yard sales.

DayZ may have been out for a year, but there’s still much to be done. If you wanted to look into the future and see what DayZ will look like in 2015, you need to check out Bohemia’s road map for future development.
