Fallout 4 screenshots siren: Bethesda pull high-res shots from trailer

Fallout 4

Two days ago we all watched a shonkily-animated dog take itself for a walk, and knew what it meant: Fallout 4 is real. But many of its most compelling shots were less than second long – fleeting glimpses of a more colourful apocalypse – and what we really needed was somebody to hold them still so we could get a good look at them. Bethesda have obliged.

Here are the things we didn’t notice while thinking up clever things to tweet about the Fallout trailer the other day.

The Autumnal hue beyond the picket fences of pre-war Boston:

MEMORY DEN, an unusually wistful name for a club:

The silhouettes of two super-mutants in the late afternoon sun:

Bethesda’s beautiful pastel reimagining of a Boston district (perhaps Back Bay?):

A bonus appearance of The Dog, camouflaged by flora:

The way a hunched deathclaw mirrors a collapsed electricity pylon:

A diamond logo that screams FACTION:

The bit on the new Pip-Boy that looks like a radiator cap:

As ever, Bethesda aren’t industry-beaters for sheer fidelity – but they’re unequalled in art direction. You can find all these shots at desktop background sizes on imgur.

Here’s everything (we think) we know about Fallout 4. Did we miss anything?
