Gears of War 4 shows off classic multiplayer in a reimagined Gridlock map

Gears of War 4 Gridlock

Above is a wonderful fly-through of Gears of War 4’s reimagined Gridlock map, all running in DirectX 12. The map keeps everything you loved about it, from the sniper tower to weapon placement, but updates the visuals to suit the time period, with nature trying to reclaim its territory, adding some lovely colour to your surroundings as it does.

Keep an eye on what’s emerging in our list of upcoming PC games.

It’s not just that fly-through though, we’ve also been shown some deathmatch action taking place in the map, with people being blown into meaty chunks, plenty of blindfiring and even a meat-shield or two on offer in the footage.

I think it might just be the frame rate bump – as I’ve only ever played a Gears game on console – but it looks much faster-paced than I remember, with plenty of clever, on-the-fly tactical decisions made in the gameplay footage in an attempt to flank the enemy.

Sitting behind cover and trading pot shots doesn’t seem to be the best course of action, as you can see in the footage below:
